Delicious and Elegant!
Food aboard the Carnival Valor

Breakfast
I ate breakfast at the buffet each morning.  Dishes available were made-to-order omelets, lots of fruit, cereals, toast and bagels, scrambled eggs, yogurts, sliced meat and cheese, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, grits, and daily dishes (such as French toast and pancakes).  Juices available were apple, orange (very good), and a orange-guava-passion fruit blend.  On the last two days, I ate breakfast in the Washington dining room.  While much was the same (same pastries, same orange juice), different entreés were available: Belgian waffles (good); thick cinnamon French toast (yummy!); pancakes; smoked salmon and cream cheese on bagel (good); omelettes (but not the excellent ones of the buffet); and cereals.  They had English muffins, too!  Service was very fast.

Here I am at breakfast on the first morning.

Lunch
Each day, I had lunch on the Lido (buffet) deck.  The Valor has several dining options on the Lido deck: regular buffet, daily themed buffet (called "Taste of the Nations"), grill stations (serving hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, French fries, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, chili, etc.), a deli (serving four hot and four cold made-to-order sandwiches), a "fish 'n' chips" station (also serving other seafood dishes), and an oriental station (serving daily-changing Asian dishes).  Drinks include fruit punch (great), lemonade (great), water, coffee, tea, and cartons of milk.

I tried the deli on the second day.  This is their turkey sandwich on country roll.  I added sliced cheese and onions from the buffet.  That day, the buffet had delicious brie-enriched mashed potatoes as well.  Oddly enough, the Lido deck has plastic cups, mugs, and ice cream dishes.

On the last day, the themed buffet was a chocolate dessert extravaganza.  I got a cheeseburger, fries, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, nachos (great toppings, awful tortilla chips), fruit punch, and a strawberry milkshake.

Dinner

I was assigned table 558 in the Upper Washington Dining Room, first seating at 5: 45 pm.  My table mates were two young women and an older man.  Our head waiter was Ben (from Australia); the assistant waiter was Alistair (from Grenada).

Midnight Buffet
This was the first cruise where I actually was able to stay up and see the midight buffet!  (I wasn't able to stay awake long enough to partake, though.)
