Embarkation
and
My First Day On Board

| I flew from Detroit Metro
to Ft. Lauderdale on Northwest (with many of
my fellow cruisers), leaving at 9:30 am and arriving at 12:30 pm.
We
then took a bus from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami cruise
terminal. I decided to carry my own bag through check-in (but I
probably should have let the porters do it--I over-packed!).
Check-in
was rather lengthy; I arrived in my cabin, number 7206, at 3:30
pm. I
made the mistake of not eating breakfast, so I rushed off to the grill
for a cheeseburger and to call my family. After that, I went back
to
my cabin to order some shore excursions (with their nifty in-room
ordering system) and to rest. Dinner was at 5:45 pm (and lasted
until
7:15 pm). After dinner, I had a headache, so I went back to my
room to
rest. When I was feeling better, I watched TV and read all of the
many
books and pamphlets about the cruise. |
