My 2001 Summer Trip to Europe

On a day trip from Rome, we visited Mount Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii, both near Naples.

Visiting Pompeii was the highlight of our entire trip. Imagining how people lived in this place in AD 80 was mind-boggling! One of the most fascinating things there is the famous "Beware of Dog" mosaic. It's just inside a doorway. Sometimes I wish more people had these today!
