An Active Final Port
Kayaks, Waterfalls, Waves, and Wonders in Kaua'i

I was feeling a little better and went on my excursion on Kaua'i.

We took a one-minute van ride to the kayaks, got a brief safety training, and headed out.

I was in a double kayak with a co-worker of Greer's

The scenery was gorgeous!

After just over an hour of kayaking, we got out and hiked.

Our first destination was a small waterfall.

The second waterfall was even more impressive!

Most people changed (at least their shoes) and wandered in!

Hike back

After wading and swimming time, we hiked back up a Niagara Falls Whirlpool trail-like path back up to lunch.

I was still too sick to eat, but the sandwiches looked good!

After changing and taking a brief nap, I was feeling up for a swim, so I walked to Kanapali Beach (only a few minutes from the ship) to swim.
What a gorgeous beach!

I body-surfed for just over an hour.  It was so much fun!  The waves were huge!
Stupidly, I didn't think I'd stay very long, so I didn't put on sunscreen.
The next day, my back was crispy.  Still, it was an awesome beach!

It was really odd to see chickens and little egrets just walking around the park near the beach.

The Marriott next to Kanapali Beach had a gorgeous koi pond open to the public!

We left port in Kaua'i early for some scenic cruising along the Na Pali coastline.

This was my favorite part of the scenic cruising: a very jagged peak!
