My
name is Kyla Gurganus, and I am
a chemistry teacher from Ypsilanti, Michigan. Every year since I
started teaching, I have taken a big trip. In 2008, I really
wanted to go to the Beijing Olympics, but it was more expensive than I
had planned, so I waited two years and went to China this year, 2010.
Unlike my normal trips, on this one I decided to take a tour,
arranged through United Vacations (tour called "China Discovery Superbuy"), Majestic Vacations, and CITS.
I flew from Detroit to Beijing and visited Beijing, Xi'an, and
Shanghai (visiting the Shanghai Expo!), getting to stay 10 days in
China before flying home from Shanghai.
I bought the book Frommer's China to take with me, but it has very minimal information. I should have taken Lonely Planet China instead, which is more comprehensive. |
