Chemistry "Magic" Shows
At Lincoln High
School, chemistry students are required to put on a chemical "magic"
show. Each group of 3-4 students selects three or more chemical
demonstrations, learns how to perform them safely, writes a 3-5 minute
skit to perform them in, designs/builds costumes and props, and
presents the skit in front of an audience of parents in May.
After the show is over, each student completes his/her own 10-15 page
formal typed research paper describing the chemistry behind the
demonstrations.
